本研究は、紀元前1世紀のミトリダテス戦争に焦点を当て、ローマ帝国とミトリダテス王国の間で行われた戦略的な闘いとその戦争の影響について検討する。ミトリダテス戦争は、ミトリダテス6世が率いるポントス王国と共和政ローマとの間で約25年にわたって行われた戦争であり、その間には様々な戦略的な動きが行われた。本研究では、両陣営の戦略の特徴と、それが戦争の結果や地政学的なバランスに及ぼす影響を明らかにすることを目的とする。具体的には、ローマ帝国の戦略的な優位性とその活用、ミトリダテス王国の反撃策、およびその他の関係国の動きに注目する。さらに、戦争終結後の地政学的な変化や影響を分析し、この戦争が地域の力関係や政治的なダイナミクスに与えた影響を明らかにすることを目指す。本研究の成果は、古代の戦略に関心を持つ研究者や歴史学者にとって貴重な情報源となることが期待される。

The main focus of this research is the Mithridatic Wars that took place in the 1st century BC. The strategic battles between the Roman Empire and the Kingdom of Pontus, led by King Mithridates VI, lasted for approximately 25 years. Throughout this period, various strategic movements were made by both sides. This study aims to examine the characteristics of the strategies employed by both factions and reveal their impact on the outcome of the war and the geopolitical balance in the region. Specifically, it will pay attention to the strategic advantages of the Roman Empire and their utilization, the countermeasures taken by the Kingdom of Pontus, and the actions of other related countries. Furthermore, it will analyze the geopolitical changes and influences that followed the end of the war, aiming to elucidate the effects this conflict had on the power dynamics and political dynamics in the region. The findings of this research are expected to serve as a valuable source of information for researchers and historians interested in ancient strategies.
